What Trouvr Does
Trouvr analyzes publicly accessible job posting URLs to detect ghost jobs and fraudulent postings. We do not access any private data — only information visible to anyone with the URL.
Data We Collect
- Job URLs you submit — to perform verification. URLs are hashed and cached for 24 hours to avoid redundant lookups.
- Account email and password (Premium users only) — stored securely with bcrypt hashing. Used solely for authentication.
- Verification count — to enforce the 5/day free tier limit, tracked by IP address or user session. Not linked to personal identity.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store credit card numbers.
Chrome Extension
The Trouvr Chrome extension reads the URL and title of LinkedIn job pages you visit. This data is sent to our API solely to perform ghost job detection. It is not stored beyond the 24-hour verification cache, not shared with any third party, and not used for advertising or tracking.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Your name, phone number, or physical address
- Your browsing history beyond job pages you actively verify
- Your resume or application materials
- Any data for advertising purposes
Third-Party Services
- Stripe — payment processing for Premium subscriptions. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Railway / PostgreSQL — database hosting for Premium user accounts.
- Vercel — hosting and edge network. Subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
Verification cache entries expire after 24 hours. Premium account data is retained until you cancel and request deletion. You may request deletion of your account data at any time by emailing [email protected].
